BCS Allegient delivers expertise in virtually all aspects of energy sector technologies, markets and infrastructure. We have a deep understanding of the energy supply system including fossil and renewable energy resources as well as storage and end-use technologies in the utility, industrial, transportation and buildings sectors. Our work helps federal clients design, invest in and manage cutting edge R&D to advance energy technology performance, grid reliability, and infrastructure security. We support our clients to develop strategic plans, to build stakeholder networks and public-private partnerships, monitor compliance and use of federal research dollars, perform outreach on technology successes and commercialization, and work with states and the private sector to improve energy emergency preparedness and response.
Ever since the OPEC oil embargo of 1973, energy has been a forefront issue for the U.S. and the world. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) was established in 1977 by combining multiple agency missions to ensure national energy security, nuclear security, conduct legacy environmental clean-up, and promote state of the art in scientific and technology research and development (R&D). The roots of BCS Allegient and its leadership extend back to early days of DOE supporting its energy programs. BCS Allegient has evolved with DOE to meet the growing need for increased energy security as a means for ensuring economic and national security.
